Games coming to Next-Generation Consoles

Earlier in the year, both Microsoft and Sony announced plans for their next-generation console. The Xbox Series X (Microsoft) and PlayStation 5 (Sony) will be released anytime from now. This brings us to the question of what games will be available to these next-generation console.

Here are our top picks at games coming to next-generation consoles in 2020.


According to EA, the FIFA 21 will be out on October 9, 2020. It will be available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and PC. It will launch on current-generation consoles before coming to the next-generation consoles at a slightly later date. 


The Marvel Avengers game will be out on September 4, 2020. It will be available on the Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. The game was officially announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 2019. The game sees you playing as your favourite superhero in an all-new story set in the Marvel universe. Playing as one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, your mission is to save the day from an evil force – just normal superhero stuff. There however is no information as to whether it would be available on next-generation consoles.


A new Call of Duty is coming this year but there is currently no information on the release date. The platforms it will be available is yet to be confirmed but probably PC, Xbox One and PS4. It would also most definitely be available on next-generation consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X).

This year’s game is rumoured to be a reboot of the Black Ops franchise similar to the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019). We hear that the title may be ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’.

Exclusive Next-generation Console Games For PS5 and Xbox series X


The exact release date for Spider-Man Miles Morales is not known but it sure is coming this year. The game was created specifically for Sony’s next-generation console: PS5. It’s been confirmed that Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a standalone title similar to Uncharted: Lost Legacy. The game acts more like a spin-off than a fully-fledged sequel.


The release date for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is yet to be confirmed. However, we do know that the game was created specifically for Microsoft’s next-generation console: Xbox Series X.
Not much is known about what Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 will be about. However, the announcement trailer, harnessing the Series X’s next-gen technology, was extremely impressive. It is likely that the game will make use of Smart Delivery. You can watch the official trailer here


Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is set to be released in December of 2020. It will be available on next-generation consoles as well as the PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC

The game sees players take on the role of Viking raider Eivor. Eivor leads their clan from their native home of Norway to the shores of Dark Ages England – with a hope of settling for good.


According to Codemasters, Dirt 5 is the next generation of extreme racing. The game was created putting next-generation consoles in mind. It would also be available to current generation consoles. The exact release date is not known but it is sure to be coming this year.

Other Games Coming


The Cyberpunk 2077 game is due to come out on November 19, 2020. It will be available to current generation consoles; however, we do hope it supports next-generation console as well. If you do not know about Cyberpunk 2077 then let’s catch you up.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a dystopian RPG from The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt Red. It is set in a gritty, science fiction world metropolis. It’s based off the pen-and-paper RPG of the same name. It promises to be a game-changer when it releases this year. There is also word going round that Keanu Reeves plays a major role in the game. We hope you’re excited!

Horizon Forbidden West is set to come out sometime in 2021 on the Sony next-generation console: PS5. The game sees Aloy returns in another graphically stunning adventure. This adventure will see the future warrior take on robotic dinosaurs across America in the PS5 sequel. In terms of gameplay, it seems like a similar set-up to the previous game, an open-world epic across glistening beaches and vertigo-inducing mountains. It was easily the most visually arresting game during the PS5 showcase


Originally, the Watch Dogs Legion game was due to be out on March 6, 2020. It was unfortunately delayed for a later time this year. It will be available on a next-generation console, current generation console as well as PC.

The game sees you as a member of the resistance, DeadSec taking on an organization called Albion. Albion has distributed riot drones all over London to keep people in line.

The interesting thing about the game is that you play as more than one character. Cool isn’t it?
